What is Lippan art?

Lippan is a traditional mud-and-mirror craft from Kutch in Gujarat. Raised clay lines are drawn by hand and small pieces of mirror are set between them, so the work catches light from every angle.

Is every piece handmade?

Yes. Sakshi makes every piece herself, from the first clay outline to the last mirror. Because it is handmade, your piece may differ slightly from the photos.

What are the boards made of?

The boards are MDF (medium-density fibreboard), finished by hand with raised Lippan clay work and hand-cut mirrors.

Is it waterproof? Can it go outdoors or in a bathroom?

Accepted Answer

No. Lippan is clay work, so please keep it indoors, away from water, steam and damp walls. It is not suitable for bathrooms or outdoors.

How do I clean and look after it?

Dust it gently with a soft dry cloth or a soft brush. Please do not use water, sprays or cleaning liquids.

How do I order?

What does pre-order mean?

Pre-order pieces are made by hand after you order. Sakshi will tell you on WhatsApp when yours will be ready.

Do you deliver across India, and what does delivery cost?

Yes, we deliver across India. Delivery is free on orders above ₹999. Below that, delivery is ₹79 per order. Sakshi shares the tracking link on WhatsApp once your parcel is sent.

How is it packed, and what if it arrives broken?

Every piece is wrapped carefully and packed in a sturdy box. If it still arrives damaged, we replace it free of charge. Please record a short video while opening the parcel and send it to Sakshi on WhatsApp.

Can I get a different colour or size?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Most pieces can be made in another colour or size. Message Sakshi on WhatsApp or send a custom order request.

Can you make a piece to my own design?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Send your design, a sketch or a photo on the Custom orders page, with the size you want, and Sakshi will tell you the price and timing.
